Please give us a short summary of your website?
It is about bubble wrap packaging. It will become a resource for buyers to source and learn about this product.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Interested in publishing and marketing
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
Eight years ago but it was free and disappeared when domain expired. Now I am ready to try again.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Wanted something related to bubble wrap. This one seemed the best choice considering what is left.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
It will be a resource dedicated to this interest only and is not a store.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To have a 100 plus pages about bubble wrap and some complimentary content such as packaging and shipping products. To publish a meaningful resource for people looking to learn and source this bubble wrap or even protective packaging and see if it is right for them. Once done, it will incorporate some marketing plan to generate income to sustain it.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
Unknown at this time.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
There would be 30 pages of content to start with that would include a list of source to buy the product based on type of buyer. For example big business and multi units in Florida vs same in Toronto Ontario Canada or small business buyer in Dallas Texas vs Toronto Ontario.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Don't know. But if it did and gererated and income than hiring help would be done.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Increasing functionality and usefulness increases development costs.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Time to write content and develop site as per vision. It will happen but had hoped more was done.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Not sure yet. Link building has started. More content and refinement of that is still in the works. Both content and link building are percieved as equally important and expected to make it successful.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Too soon to tell. But I plan to be visible with search engines and if I'm not visible for some target keywords in 3 months for google to index site,t his will be quite different from expectations.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Couple weeks. If no big traffic gains or income in a year and I have time to fix it than it will be done, otherwise it may just site there and gain SEO maturity credits and revisited again at a later date.
Future Plans
To make it good and useful, then make it better and market it. Review and see what worked and keep doing it. Don't know how much time and effort it is gonna take but hopefully working "slow and steady" will win this race. :)
