These days, there seems to be a lot of injustices in most of workplaces like workers being laid off while the top brass of their respective companies gets big paychecks and salary increase. Some of the employees who feels these injustices often decides to take revenge and carry out sabotage even before they actually get fired. The best thing to do if you suspect layoffs coming or bonus you were expecting are not paid, is to make a verbal personal discussion with your manager rather than stewing your anger in action. Last year a woman on my block handed out little bags of candy in little favor bags tied with black and orange ribbon with a little origami pumpkin tied to each one. It must have taken her ages to complete all of those little bags. Time and money I know I don't have. She did give me a good idea though. My kids and I decided to decorate our windows with halloween origami. We did witches hats and black cats and pumpkins like my neighbor. The kids loved it and it was a fun activity for us to do together. I bought the paper online from an office supply company. So if you are running low on activities, this is a great one for adults and kids alike. Tags: halloween • origami • kids crafts • decorating • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

I was at the office last week and they were cleaning out the supply cabinet. Luckily for me, there were about six tablets of construction paper that no one really wanted. Being an avid scrapbooker, I decided to take it and make pages for my Halloween pictures from last year.It was funny, because the tablets really only had the colors in there that no one wanted to use, like brown and black and orange. It gave me the best idea to start buying construction paper to do my pages rather than scrapbook paper. It is cheaper. You can get a whole pad for next to nothing! I love improvising when it comes to office supplies and scrapbooking. Tags: scrapbooking • construction paper • office supplies • office supply cabinet • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

When times get tough for the pocket, it is natural for people to look for more ways on how to earn more money. Some even do it against established policies. One behavior that most company bosses are now noticing is daylighting, or the act of squeezing two jobs in one shift. For example, a man working a consultant in an office might also practice as a mortgage broker during breaks--and sometimes even during office hours. Is this ethical? You;re the judge. My office is really the most drab place a person could work. They put up occasional holiday decorations but other that that, nothing ever changes. I get really fed up of seeing the exact same things when I come in to work every day. That is why I think that all offices should be psychedelic colors.Everyone would be in a good mood and those colors have to do something for creativity. I just get so sick of black, gray and white. What is creative about that? When employers decorate, a certain aura must be felt when employees walk in for maximum production. These colors would do just that! I know that some days I go in to work and just want to go back home. That was until I spruced up my cubicle. My boss didn't mind if I added a few personal effects. It was my space after all. I decided to get some color coordinated desk organizers. I got a pencil cup and a file folder holder and a tray for papers. I also got some really pretty colored post-it notes. My favorite thing though would have to be the racks that I got for my cubicle that hook over the edge so I can hang my coat when I come in. Try decorating your cubicle. It really made the difference in my work day. Tags: cubicle • office decorating • desk organization • post it notes • 0 Comments. - Permalink |

I work for a company that orders supplies for bigger companies. We take care of everything from chairs and tables for conference rooms to trashcans in breakrooms and bathrooms. One thing that it seems like people like to cut out when they are making last minute revisions to a purchase list is trash can liners. Well let me tell you why that is a mistake.Read more: Why Trash Can Liners Make Sense [click] Tags: trash can liners • cleaning supplies • janitorial staff • 2 Comments. - Permalink |
