Name of your website?

Executive Desk Company

Your name?

Todd Trieu

Your Location (city, etc)

San Diego

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We're importers of modern executive office furniture and sell directly to consumers online. We carry modern executive desk, reception desk, credenza, chair, and other modern office furniture.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Our CEO is a degree Mechanical Engineer who, just two years ago, was personally searching for a modern executive desk for his own home office. Soon after beginning his search for a modern desk, he realized that the industry did not cater to the middle class. You either get mundane desk design at less than $1500 or you get 'designer' modern desk at more than $3000. Frustrated with not being able to obtain quality modern desk at an affordable price, he sought alternatives oversea. He decided that if it takes importing a whole container of furniture just to obtain a unique and beautifully crafted executive desk for himself, he would create a company as well. Hence Executive Desk Company was born.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Our website was launch in April 2007.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We knew that to be effective, our website name had to contain a description of what we do. We specialize executive desk and so we named it Edeskco, for Executive Desk Company.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Our pricing and designer style executive are definitely a unique offering in the industries. You simply can't find the quality and design we have at the pricing we offer.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We aim to grow Executive Desk Company into a multi million dollar company with the ultimate goal of helping to change the American office design from the current mundane U-shape desk to a modern European design desk.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We are currently performing very well. Revenues are growing steadily and call volumes are growing steadily. Even with very little press thus far, we are still able to serve a niche market. The potential will be great as we expand and establish a name for ourselves.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would have had very talented marketing consulting help with promotions and we would have hired talented website developers.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Absolutely.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

We have had to deal with numerous fork lift failures. What a headache. I guess we should have just purchase new ones.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Our biggest challenge has been to pick the right product offerings. With so many personalities and product taste, it is actually a great challenge to form just the right product mix.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

We have promoting our product almost exclusively through Google and Craigslist. So far, they have been effective and we plan on continuing and combine it with other marketing paths.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

We're finding that it is easy to run a website. Almost anyone can do it. However, doing it well is a different challenge.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Our website has been running for one and a half year. We plan on running it for a very long time.

What is your website address?

Executive Desk Company
