Organizing A Halloween Party for Your OfficeMost Americans today are thinking about Halloween, Trick-or-Treat, and the children who will come out in those Halloween costumes. For a lot of people, the celebration is centered around children. What some people do not see is that quite a number of adult Americans are starting to appreciate Halloween as well and celebrate it in the office.~~ Now think about it. This celebration may be a good way to boost the morale of your team/employees, and strengthen the bond that keeps you all together. Common activities like this also provide a good venue where interdepartment communication may be improved. Furthermore, if you are the boss, it is also a good way to show your employees that you appreciate their contributions all throughout the year. So what kind of Halloween party should your organize for your office? A previous blog post asks a very similar question. How can you organize an office Halloween party without resorting to wild parties not usually seen in decent offices? There are various ways, I guess. But I suggest to go traditional and follow the way of the children: opt for a costume party. Given that Halloween is a predominantly for-children-affair, why don't you tell the party participants to dress up like Halloween creatures, with the one wearing the best costume winning a price? Aside from the costume party, you can also probably break the office into teams and tell them to come up with their respective office sections decorated for the Halloween. As for games, well, I also suggest to go traditional and have apple bobbing and pumpkin carving events, if possible. Just because we only become a kid once and we are already past that age does not mean we cannot enjoy that day the way they do. We are all supposed to take that day off from all the stressful work at the office. So we might as well take it to kids' level of partying. What do you plan for your own office Halloween party? We'd love to hear from you. Happy Halloween! |
