We sell ink cartridges, toners and related printing hardware. We are an online only business so we can keep our costs low and pass the savings on to customers

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We identified a gap in the online market place for business orders of everyday supplies. Our original goal was to allow business customers to order ink and toners quickly and get them shipped quickly to their door. This goal is now acheived daily through our many customers.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Quick Ink is our first venture into the online space, although a computer hardware website is not far away. Quick Ink was first launched in 2005

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We combined our service goal with the product we sell. We aim to be quick and we sell ink. Pretty simple isn't it?

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We are happy to give advice on printing solutions and want steer you towards the most profitable item. We believe in creating a relatonship not just a profit.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Like all things inlife you only get out what ou put in.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would like to add features that make the customer experience better. So features such as automatic ordering for regular customers and tools to help find the right consumables for their printer

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Although the current labour market is tight in WA we believe we can source the right people required

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The only problem we encounter relates to upstream providers who give ETA's of stock arrival but don't meet them. This effects our customer which a less than ideal situation

What has been your biggest challenge?

In the early days attracting traffic. Like all online business this is the lifeblood of the business. But a SEO program and a relentless commitment to content has seen our traffic grow

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Link building and working on content. Search engines deliver the most traffic so it is important to acheive good rankings

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

We knew it would be a challenge. They haven't been all that different to reality.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site has been up since 2005 and we plan to evolve it for aslong as customers still find it helpfull.
