| Fun facts about map tacks Map tacks, or map flags, or sometimes even called map pins... come in such a variety of styles, colors and sizes, they can be used for bunches of things. I was looking at different map tacks and it seems there is one for every feature you can think of and more on a map, since there are so many sizes and colors.~~Numbered map pins are used in art galleries to identify artists' work. Planners use map pins on schematics to identify key tasks in a project. Some types of map tacks are: - Erasable map pins
- Small map pins
- Medium Map pins
- Large map pins
- Extra large map pins
- Medium pins with dots, stripes or crosses on the pin head
- Flag and pennant map pins
- Large colored push pins
- Numbered map pins
Of course you can also think of other uses for map tacks, like putting them on the teacher's chair (common in my day and age at school), or maybe a a "favorite" office mate. You could also use them like land mines in areas you don't want intruders sneaking in. I can use a short shaft map tack to stick my paper number on my saddle leather at the rodeo. Sometimes I wonder what the difference is between a map tack and a push pin. |
