We all love this time of year. First is Halloween, then Thanksgiving, and best of all Christmas! And don't forget New Year's too. Why not get our jobs involved with the holidays as well. I always decorate for the season. It gets me in the mood to do my holiday shopping and plan get togethers. This trick is to decorate just enough so it is not distracting to you at work.Going all out with streamers and lights and things hanging from the ceiling is probably too much for the office. I usually put out little figurines on my desk and set out a dish of candy appropriate for the season. I also love to hang some of my kids' holiday artwork that they make in school. It brings just enough home to the office without going overboard. I do think is important to be professional first and foremost, so use some discretion when decorating the office. My office is really the most drab place a person could work. They put up occasional holiday decorations but other that that, nothing ever changes. I get really fed up of seeing the exact same things when I come in to work every day. That is why I think that all offices should be psychedelic colors.Everyone would be in a good mood and those colors have to do something for creativity. I just get so sick of black, gray and white. What is creative about that? When employers decorate, a certain aura must be felt when employees walk in for maximum production. These colors would do just that! I know that some days I go in to work and just want to go back home. That was until I spruced up my cubicle. My boss didn't mind if I added a few personal effects. It was my space after all. I decided to get some color coordinated desk organizers. I got a pencil cup and a file folder holder and a tray for papers. I also got some really pretty colored post-it notes. My favorite thing though would have to be the racks that I got for my cubicle that hook over the edge so I can hang my coat when I come in. Try decorating your cubicle. It really made the difference in my work day. Tags: cubicle • office decorating • desk organization • post it notes • 1 Comments. - Permalink |
