| I Don't Think I Will Ever Be Fully Used To Working HereI work in an office with about 8 other employees. I have been working here for about a little over 3 years now. I have never worked in an office before prior to working here so as you would think, it took a little getting used to. Actually, I think I still haven't gotten fully comfortable working here. From the day I got my first job at the age of 16, I have always worked in a construction environment. Whether it be tearing off and replacing a roof on a house when I was 16, working maintenance for my local court house after I graduated high school, or completely remodeling houses from the age of 20 til I was 23, I was always working hard labor. I never had down time and I was always being active. Now I work in an office.~~ I can't get used to the fact that I have to sit for eight hours straight staring in to a computer screen and typing on the keyboard to where I feel like knives are being stabbed through my wrists. I find that most days I get really bad migraine headaches. I would get them so bad to where I wanted to cry. They would go away after I got home from work. My brain is filled with everything I need to know about building a house from the ground up. Learning the computers was a bit hard for me. I am not in any way complaining about my job. I love my job. I love what I do. It wasn't easy, but I learned how to do my job really well. I love the people I work with and I want to stay at my job. It's just that sometimes I miss working my ass of doing hard labor. After working here for a while I realized how I can help with my headaches and how I can stay energized while I stare in to my computer. Now instead of rushing to get my job done, I relax a little. I feel as if my day goes better. I don't really get headaches anymore because I have learned how to avoid them. Instead of getting all confused about something, I ask for help. I take random breaks to stretch out and get some air. I may have had to learn a few things to be great at my job, but it was worth it! |
